KALETA:
Where the songs and rhythms of Republic of Benin meet western pop. . . . "Kaleta is a West African pop band which fuses the rhythms and melodies of traditional African music with those of Western pop music. The result is a captivating mixture of African folk, JuJu, and high-life music, laced with R&B, reggae and rock; the sound is exotic yet familiar. The lyrics are in native West African languages including Yoruba (Nigeria), Fon and Goun (Benin), and Ewe (Togo), as well as in French and English."
